If we left a human by the roadside, it would be legally punishable. If a pet caused damage, the owner would be liable. Why should drivers be permitted to get away with harming a pet and not step up to their responsibility?

No animal should be allowed to suffer full stop! Animal welfare agencies etc such as the RSPCA fight this cause but why does the law not support this when it comes to hit and run? It's no different to cruelty to animals for which you CAN be prosecuted. Why can we not show consistentency with the law!

People have to stop by law if they hit a child/adult even dogs (though most dont ie no licence, no insurance drivers) so the law for cats should be no different they are somebodies furbaby they are somebodies family x

I totally support this cause. I lost my cat to a callous cold hearted driver who left him at the road side alone and suffering. The law needs to change!!!

I'm signing this as I've list one cat to a speeding drover and 5 months ago a £7,000 vet bill as they hit my cat and left him for dead. The law needs to change you don't know what upset this causes and the trauma

This needs to become law! No fur babies should be left to die after being hit!
