My darling 2 yr old cat was hit by a driver who left her with a broken back, but did he/she stop to tell someone, no. You can't tell me that you hit something the size of a cat & don't know about it. It should be law that you must report it. I know I would.

All animals have a brain and a soul and deserve dignity. To just leave them on the side of the road is cruel minded and inhumane.

I have a lot of friends who have lost their beautiful kittys due to being hit or run over .. let's hope we can do something about it X

I don't care what the law says. And I stood up and said it at a driving course recently. I Wouldn't think twice about causing an accident by slamming my breaks on if a cat or dog or any animal ran out. (if people behind are to close and going to fast not my problem) people should slow down and be more aware of animals on roads. And should be law they stop and take animal to vets if something does happen. X

I agree people should stop, I own dogs and cats and they are all very much part of the family, I had my cat daisy who was hit and killed outright and the following year my 2 boys were hit a month apart Arthur lost his back leg and Fred has been left blind in one eye and brain damaged

I strongly agree with this petition and it is a law that is long overdue. It should have been enforced years ago. I myself have had multiple family members discover their cats in similar positions. Left for dead for all to see and walk by. Disgusting.

Love my cat like a family member and would be devastated if this happened to him, what happened to humanity

Twice my cats have had injuries from cars but made it home or to a neighbour's house, I've had friends who haven't been so lucky and didn't find their pet until a day later, very distressing, they are loved as part of the family just as dogs are!

Why are cats treated differently from other animals its just not fair. We must respect all living creatures on this planet that we share

My baby was hit in the face by a driver that did not stop. £2500 vet bill incurred. Drivers need to take more responsibility

THIS IS TOO HORRIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE FEELINGS TOWARDS ALL ANIMALS.

After having my own cat hit and the driver left him at the side of the road, if I hadnt gone looking for him he would not have made it. Surely it should be courteous to stop take the cat to a vet to find its owner but that doesn't seem to matter

Equal rights for cats and dogs.
