I am truly horrified that as the law stands, drivers do not have to stop if they hit a cat. I work for Cats Protection and therefore I feel the law should be changed.

It's really sad that cats get less protection than dogs (it's a legal requirement to stop if a driver hits a dog). Any decent human would stop when they hit any animal, no matter what species.

I have 10 cats and would be devastated if any got run over and left:-( it happened to my dog and people should be made to stop.
