I ran a cat over once, he shot out from the side of the road & I couldn't stop quick enough, I was devastated. I stopped & picked him up, knocked loads of doors whilst sobbing my heart out as his leg was in a bad way, I located his owner & even offered to pay the vet bill. Maybe as a cat lover this just seemed to be the right thing to do for me, but surely any human being couldn't ignore a suffering animal. What a horrible world this is turning into.

They should have to stop for every animal they hit , unfortunately there are too many people out there that won't stop for anything , I had my dog ran over and killed , they didn't stop either , please sign to make this world a better place x

I have lost a cat to a driver that didn't stop and I was devastated when we recieved the call that she had passed away. Luckily for us a kind passer by picked her up and took her to be scanned. Another of our cats has also been hit and survived luckily, however again the driver didn't stop

I would stop definitely but many people don't always realise so they don't stop. Lorries and vans in particular.

It should be illegal to run a cat over, as it is for dogs!

You wouldn't leave a human in agony injured or killed in the road and a cat should be no different.. Its inhumane. They are part of your family and we are supposed to be an animal loving nation. The law needs to be changed.

I have lost 3 cats this way. In the last 2 and its heartbreaking. I really hope your petition is successful.

I've had 2 cats run over and killed and the driver's never stopped ! Just left them there to suffer

i have lost a cat ,seven wks now ,she is chipped and havent heard a thing it should be law to for drivers to stop and report
