my cat recently got hit by a car at 2am so not that many cars around at that time. Thankfully he managed to drag himself home to collapse on the floor. I had no idea what had happened just that he was in a bad way and got him straight to the emergency vet. When I was told he was hit by a car. It broke my heart to think if he hadn't got himself home what would have happened.

The law needs changed now! I lost a cat a few years ago, someone said they saw it lying on the road but I could not find it and I dont know to this day what happened to him. Too many are picked up and disposed of without the owners ever finding out what has happened to them.

It should now be compulsory to stop if hitting a cat with a car. I have lost 2 cats by them being hit by cars and I live on a country lane! Nobody stopped!!

My cat was hit by a car and they didn't bother stopping! A lady ran out of the local shop and took my cat to the vets even though it was a Sunday morning. Without the help of the lovely Angela my cat would of died there in the road! This quick thinking lady saved my cats life! The driver could of done the right thing but didn't bother!!!

Cats have a right to be looked after in the event that they get hit by a car and should not be left to suffer.

I think you should have to stop if you hit any animal. what makes us as humans superior to such a level we can kill or injure any animal and disregard it or just shrug it off and keep driving?

Lost two cats to road accidents on one occasion lady who was behind the car that hit my cat stop to pick him up! Lovely lady will never forget her being there for his last breath!! I've picked up several over the years it's not hard it's humane any vet will take them in!!! As they do a fox or hedgehog x
