Stop for cats

I have 6 cats and I also rescue cats is it not a living creature and should be treated as such if injured any way ran over or hurt. We as humans should know if an animal is in pain or distress these cats kittens are probably someone's pet please sign share etc I will ask others to do the same xx

Cats are not only pets they are family I lost mine in a rta :( worst thing I've had to go thru this law don't care nowadays who it hurts ! Exp when it belongs to loving family's and older people have a think about it what would u do if it was something u loved most would u want to no ? Would u rather they got help of course u would so get a grip and change the law now !! Before more Innocent people and pets are hurt !

I agree something should be done

Cats are sentient beings and as such should be given the respect that all living things deserve. It is disgusting that cats can be knocked down by cars and drivers are not obliged to stop to help them/report them.

needs to change had 2 of mine hit by a car and just left in road it's disgusting

I believe drivers should by law have to stop/report a cat collision. They are someone's beloved family pet. As a cat owner I believe we have a right to know what's happened to our beloved pets

This should totLly be law. Why should cats be treated differently from dogs? My cat was run over whilst I was on holiday, fortunately our house sitter and friends were there to help and she is now on the road to recovery.

Please make this law

I've had a cat hit by a car and sadly she died, two girls who knew my daughter let us know , they saw it happen bless them . The driver was on her mobile phone and didn't stop . I have indoor cats now .

I have cats like most people this needs to happen

i love cat had them all my life and mum before me , and are family it breaks my heart to here of any cat ran over , and drivers dont stop , its heartless .

I lost my cat and the person who hit him left him. By the time a kind person took him to a vets it was too late as he had already passed away. It's a very good idea.

I really feel sorry for your children and for the cats that have been hurt and have passed , I also have no excuse for the drivers that leave cats to die. But the irresponsible owners who let the cats out to run where they want and poop in other peoples gardens are the ones to blame. Cats to not know the green cross code. Us dog owners have to keep our dogs on leads and clean the poop or face a fine. Let's hope that cats get classified as pets and their owners get to look after them properly.

Cats have the right to be treated like the family members that they are

I think cars should stop for cats to they also live in this world and they should get treated as same as the other animals who cars have to stop for so i hope this law changes to make cats safe to afterall as like dogs and other animals cats are part of the family to.

Being a cat owner myself I would be devestated if someone hit my cat and didn't stop to check it or take it to the nearest vet. It should be made law that the driver stops!!!! It's no different to hitting a dog it's someone pet and a living creature and deserves more than being left at the side of the road to die!!!!!!

Cats have rights as well as all animals.

Cats are loved by their families

Every animal deserves to be treated with respect in death, and all owners deserved to know hat has happened to their family pet. I once saw a driver hit a cat and drive on so I stopped and held the cat until it died, the driver didn't mean to kill the cat but at least the cats owner had the comfort of knowing it was being cuddled when it passed... Please make it law that the driver must stop and help the cat.
