My little kitty was killed on the road by a bus driver he could have slowed down and avoided him but he didn't and didn't stop even tho ppl were waving at him from both sides of the road if there was consequences for such actions i know my cat would be alive today.

The law needs changing, all hit and runs on cats need reporting

Why do we have to report dogs, but not cats, wrong.

Good day to you, I've had two cats run over in 3 months. One is dead and the other one is in the animal hospital now. I am signing this petition but please for the love of God learn how to spell "would have" and "their". Please.

In most cases cat is someone's much loved pet and deserve to what has happened. Closure is extremely important.

I am sorry to hear about this, Nicole, as I love cats and have two cats of my own! I agree that drivers should be more compassionate and careful when encountering cats. or any animal for that matter, on the road! What if it was their own pet there? Anyway, I am happy to sign this petition and hope the law(s) will be changed to deter drivers from senselessly running over more cats, other animals! Good luck, keep us posted!

Just had my brave little man return home after 4 weeks. His bones were fusing back together after being hit 4 weeks ago. If the driver had stopped and reported he would still be with us. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our much loved Dash. He was just over 1 year old.

I totally support this. It is wrong to leave a cat suffering.

My partner and I were driving home on the m25, and saw what was left of a cat left in the road,we did stop and managed to put the poor cats remains into a blanket,it saddens me that no one before us stopped, this beautiful cat had a home,a family who were looking for it sadly the cat had no collar, we have 3 cats and know what it's like to lose one, we also have 2 dogs, I believe cats should have the same rights as dogs, they belong to a family, they are loved it broke my partners heart picking this poor animal up from the road after so many cars had run over it,,so DRIVERS IF YOU HIT A CAT...STOP!!!! Take it to a vet don't leave it to die......

I'M SIGNING, BUT, WOULDN'T IT JUST BE EASIER, TO KEEP THE CATS INSIDE, WITH PLENTY OF TOYS & A CAT TREE TO OCCUPY THEM, WHEN NO-ONE IS HOME ?

The law should be changed so cats are treated the same as dogs.

I hate to hear of this happening. One of mine disappeared for days and we never knew if she was hit by a car or what. A neighbor recently ran over his own cat. Sometimes it is unavoidable but the cats should never be just left in the road to die and the owners to wonder.

We have just lost our cat, she has been missing for 2 weeks now. Her sister got hit by a car a couple of years ago and was left by the side of the road. Somebody rang the council and they took her. She was chipped as they both are and the council didn't scan her they just throw her in a skip. Both my husband and I are devastated at losing both our cats as we were unable to have children so we dotted on them instead.

I was very lucky. We moved house & three weeks later, on bonfire night, Ollie was ran over. He was 13, had just had twelve teeth removed & still full of life.He was taken to the nearest vets & scanned. I can't thank the people who did this enough. So sad but at least I knew what had happened, I wasn't left guessing. This is very important. Xxx
