I oppose this development at the gateway to the Turquoise Trail and Santa Fe. This is now a residential area that's not suited to this type of service area. However, I appreciate the need for dedicated spaces for truckers to rest safely. Could the former shopping center between SF and ABQ provide a pre-existing infrastructure?

It's the wrong place for a truck stop. This is the beginning of the historic Turquoise trail and the entrance to Santa Fe recognized as one of the most unique cities in the country. There is a truck stop in Albuquerque...really? You need one here?!!

No TruckStop. No Noice or Light pollution. This is a quiet and safe area. The Truck Stop will bring unwanted traffic and crime. We don't need a truck stop here.

The Flying J truck stop's proposed location is a bad idea for several reasons.
1. It's located near a new, narrow nightmarish intersection that currently confuses car drivers and truck drivers alike. I can only forsee more accidents in this area specifically due to a poorly designed highway project.
2. This intersection will also become a bottleneck of backed up traffic waiting to get onto I25.
3. The truck stop would be too close to a zoned county residential area that people moved to specifically for quiet country life.
4. If this new truckstop is trying to seek a variance to overcome residential zoning it should be wholeheartedly denied. Idling trucks for heat and air conditioning creates very loud noises that carry for miles. Loud sounds from trucks braking and starting up also makes loud noises that carried on soundwaves for miles.
5. Air pollution from diesel trucks would adverdely affect the quality of air thatvSanta Fe is known; its healthy, pristine air quality - best in the US.
6. The variance for large signage being requested would be an obnoxious eyesore. It would create permission for an onslaught of other businesses seeking high profile signage which would cause additional visual pollution.
7. The commercial fast food snack bars this truck stop would house would affect the businesese of local franchise businesses owners of fast food restaurants on Cerrillos Road that are located near the proposed truck stop area.
8. Overall, there is too much traffic congestion now in the proposed area and it will onlyvworsen. The location would be better suited outside of Santa Fe city and the county limits. Somewhere directly off the interstate highway where truckers could easily enter and exit and also be more accessible tourists would make better sense. It seems a location near a casino or off of I25 or rte 84 would be better suited for it.

This is a Beautiful city and to put that at the entry would be an eyesore. The local roads can't handle extra traffic, noise, air and night sky and ground pollution, and high water use. We don't need that here.

A truck stop at the intersection of highway 14 and Rancho Viejo would be a disaster for the residential real estate market in Santa Fe county. The proposed sight is already a driving nightmare. Santa Fe and Santa Fe county are better than this.

There is absolutely no need for a truck stop Outside of Santa Fe, there is one in Albuquerque, and another one in Las Vegas, and then the huge one just outside of Wagon Mound. This is a mostly residential area, and that intersection has hard enough time handling normal traffic, absolutely would be a nightmare trying to handle all that truck traffic!!
