Majority of my knanaya people believe they are superior than other Catholics in Kerala because of the false belief of Endogamy, I think this is where the hidden evil spirit lies, its the work of satan to dicriminate others and gives you some sort of false confidence.. It is unfortunate that this is how our younger generation is brought up, its important they are educated well and they follow the path of non-discrimination and see themselves equal as every other huma beings.. I married within the community but all I see around is my fellow knanaya members fighting each other for the sake of this evil endogamy spirit.. It should STOP, respect to Bishop for taking small steps to stop this gradually..

My mother is from outside Knanaya but we were parishners of Kidangoor church including my all my Catichesm and sacraments up until my marriage. It was very disturbing for all my family to learn that as my mother was not knanaya Catholic I cannot get married at my church, it was really heart breaking and I felt the descrimination then by fello parishners etc... It is wrong and I now hate Knanaya community for making such a discriminatory practice!! I never want to come back to such a community..

Majority Knanaya people some how being mislead by their Church leadership for decades that they all some from one Tribe in middle East and they are superior to other Catholics in Kerala. This false belief is the fundamental reason for resistance within the community to change course, church leadership needs to work really hard in educating the community members with the truth and stop the practice of Endogamy based Church expulsions!! We pray that our Bishop, Mar Mathew Moolakkattu, can make a reform in our community!! I am therefore, in supportive of this petition.

Many people in the community are looking for a change from Bishop on this matter but no one wants to come forward because they feel their parish priest and community leaders will isolate them. Our community is geeting from bad to worse, one day bishop and team will realise the mess they created to divide people on the basis on stupid endogamy....

It was a disgrace that few Knanaya members cornered and harassed our Bishop, Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, for his doing the right thing. He is a Bishop of Church not just community specially when the community leadership is discriminatory he cannot support them. I am proud of being a knanaya but these people do not represent the wider community, these people are completely ignorant and prejudiced and do not realise that we live in a different world. Please STOP your disgraceful discrimination and save our community’s reputation. I like to sign my petition today.

The current community leadership is so backward thinking although some of these people are college professors and is not letting our Bishop Mathew Moolakkattu to make the community a better one. Ashamed of these professors who are so backward in their thinking and so much short sighted. We pray that Bishop will be brave enough to make the necessary changes for the good of the next generation and improve the image of knanaya community in this world.

Church should never expel their members based on their marriage to an other Christian. Community is a different entity and if they have a strict criteria for membership that's a private matter. However, a church under Catholic rite should never dicriminate people based on the so called pure bllod theory which is proven to be FALSE. Please pray this STOPS soon.

Some knanaya people thinks that all those who are exeplled are desparate to come back to the community, the ones I know are angry that Church leadership expelled them from their church membership even when the knanaya community isn't an endogamous community. They are desparate to be back in their church where they were baptised, community is secondary and is not important for most I knnow. Church expulsion is clearly not right and I am supporting this petition.

I never believed in the theory of Knanaya community being endogamous in the first place, I was lucky enough to find a suitable wife from the knanaya community itself. However, at least two of my close cousins couldn't find a suitable partner within the community due to multiple reasons. I am sad that they are not anymore part of my community gatherings and church events as the attitude of certain people in our community is so discriminatory they don't want to come to Knanaya Church. The change needs to come from the Bishop and priests otherwise nothing will change... hope it will happen one day so we don't spoil the name of our community in the name of church expulsion....I am in supportive of this petition...

Pope Francis says ,We are a hospital for sinners. Wounds healed inside."
A broken world needs a place to bring its spiritual injuries. We need an emergency room more than a courtroom. We want healing more than judgment.
Let's pray that the God may heal the injuries caused in our relations due the evil spirit of endogamy and bring our brothers and sisters In kottayam Diocese to the true Christian life and fellowship.Pray for our Bishops,Priests and the leaders of knanaya community, so that they are able to respond to the inspiration of holy spirit by overcoming the evil spirit of endogamy.

I was Kna spirited until my step mother denied membership in my church, my maternal mom died following cancer and my father remarried with all our support so he has a companionship. As my step mother isn't from Kna the marriage had to be elsewhere and our local parish advised my dad to join membership in a different church along with my step mother. It has caused a lot of distress to my father and us as my mother is buried in our knanaya church and he has lot of connection to this church. I am all in for this petition as this may prevent similar instances in future.

This is such an unfair practice, I married someone I met at University who isn't from a Knanaya community but Catholic still my parish wouldn't allow our second child's baptism at my church where I grew up and my parent's still members of. I am so pleased to be out of this community where the bishops and priests only care about keeping their endogamy policy. Should this church be part of a Catholicism? I live in UK and I go to my local catholic church where they are so welcoming including people from all walks of life who wish to have some spiritual time. This system of denying sacrements is unchristian purely based on the fact that I was married out of Knanaya.
I hope this ends soon
