Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot and Environmental Minister Greg Hunt has approved the dumping of sludge in World Heritage Great Barrier Reef.
This catastrophic act will destroy the worlds largest coral reef system consisting of over 2,900 reefs, 900 islands and home to over 1500 species of fish, birds and turtles.
In addition to this the impact on the Australian economy would be disastrous, as the loss of this annual 4-5 billion dollar portion of our tourism industry would lead to increased unemployment and the significant increase in taxes to further support the growing requirements of the social welfare system.
