Rockaway does not have the resources and infrastructure to support this shelter. We are already in a hole with the proposed housing at the old peninsula hospital sight. As a community many fel the ROCKAWAY’s are ignored by or dumped on by the city. I feel that is a justified feeling. A shelter will not be good for the ROCKAWAY’s and a horrible location for a shelter. I am against this.

Keep the history of rockaway
And education of this special history and pass era all should know
People are lacking knowledge of this special place

At a time when our community is experiencing a renaissance in development, we should not be bringing more homeless to thwart that development. It does not serve the community nor does it benefit the homeless themselves who are thrown out to an area with challenging transportation to say the least and limited access to services for the homeless.

How do you expect these homeless men to reintegrate into the community when there is nothing here for people who live here already who commute to the city for jobs!!! Keep them closer to access to services- we have 1 hospital that cant even accommodate those that live here.

We do NOT want another homeless shelter, certainly not a mans shelter. I bank at chase & unless the bank is open I never use it. Someone is always begging outside of the bank.

Please, use common sense.... there is nothing here in Rockaway that will help these men progress, as we don’t have jobs to offer. There are multiple schools in the area. This is not a suitable option, which should be obvious!

Rockaway is still recovering from Sandy and has always had a disproportionate amount of low income housing SRO’s year ago destroyed areas of Rockaway . Only in NY does government attempt to ruin beachfront property

we dont want another shelter dumping ground.we have enough nursing homes the st johns home homeless on 116th street.we dont need homeless roaming begging for money outside supermarkets and on the street. don't put shelter here.how about right next to deblasios house n brooklyn that would be a good place.

Please reconsider this. The ramifications of this move are astronomical. A school is a few blocks away. The beach entrance is on the corner of 101. Parents and guardians will be effected emotionally by this shelter and the children will not be safe! Please reconsider this action.
