Stop Dumping On Rockaway

Rockaway has a small geographical foot print and is still recovering from its past disasters. There is very limited health care and employment opportunity in the area. There are more suitable locations with better access to employment and healthcare services. Also, the timing of this seems to suggest the Mayor or his staff are performing some type of political retribution on Rockaway or its other elected officials.

The city, state and federal government has done nothing for the residents of Rockaway aside from building a boardwalk. I would love to see a breakdown of monies allocated to Rockaway, compared to the rest of the city. Total disgrace how Rockaway is dumped on and forgotten.

WE DO NOT HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THIS FACILITY HERE IN ROCKAWAY. WE ALREADY HAVE LOADS OF HOMELESS AND SHELTER RESIDENTS WAREHOUSED OUT HERE. NO SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR THEM HERE ONLY ONE HOSPITAL FOR THE WHOLE PENINSULA.

There is a severe lack of services. programs, medical options etc for all current residents of Rockaway...especially the elderly & the youth. Therefore it is insane to even consider putting a shelter in Rockaway! There is nothing here for the homeless. This is not fair to them or residents. Rockaway is still in recovery phase from Hurricane Sandy. Do not put a shelter in Rockaway!

Enough is enough put it by your schools and home DeBlasio

We have done our share in Rockaway to support the homeless and mentally ill it’s time the mayor puts these shelters in areas that have facilities such as hospitals maybe Park Slope DeBlasio!

It is beyond ludicrous to put a shelter in Rockaway, NY There are no services here for homeless people. There are not even services for the kids or people already living here. Rockaway has still not recovered fully from Hurricane Sandy so its definitely not an appropriate place to house homeless people! Do not put a homeless shelter in Rockaway please! It's not fair to anyone involved.

We still have not rebuilt our Park system Since Hurricane Sandy and our Children have no playgrounds We have over a mile of the Rockaway’s most popular beaches still closed due to severe erosion of the protection along our beaches We are finally getting our lives somewhat back together 28% of CB14 population receives some type of Public assistance 20 % of Population is considered at the federal poverty level We have 5860 adult and nursing home beds We have 5,000 units of Public Housing- NYCHA CB 14 ranks 12th out of 59 community boards with the highest infant mortality rate CB 14 has 10 residences for those with mental disabilities – NYS facilities ST Johns Boys home Our Peninsula has Homeless facilities: Our Peninsula has La Qunita motel- temporary housing for homeless Our Peninsula has a DHS Adult Homeless shelter at beach 65 street- old Daytop village site Our Peninsula has a DHS Homeless shelter in Far Rockaway 22-15 Lorretta road CB14 has the second largest amount of Residents utilizing Section 8 vouchers Rockaway does more than its fair share for social justice

No all male homeless shelter in rockaway beach NY. We already have our fair share of affordable housing and homeless shelters. Keep my children safe . I pay my taxes .

We do not support or want the all male homeless shelter in rockaway Beach NY. We have no room for anymore people never mind 120 men. The location right next to 3 schools with young children is not the right place for this. Build it in the many available locations throughout Brooklyn or manhattan. I say no to the shelter .
