Do not put a honeless shelter on 101 street in Rockaway. This is unacceptable and the community must be considered. We have been the forgotten community for decades. We need a beach and a hospital and so much more not a

I am not against helping the less fortunate, I too was there at one point but we cannot put our children at risk with an all mens shelter especially if they will be putting the non compliant residents there. There are many different ways to go about this but dumping them in Far Rockaway isn't it.

There is no ifrastructure for these individuals. There are also no jobs for them. And the Rockaway’s have a disproportionate number of people that need assistance.

Rockaway already services a large proportion of at risk populations with multiple homeless housing and nursing homes and rehab centers. Need to find another place for this

The Dept of Homeless Services, The Mayor and private landlords realize that they can get away with dumping populations with problems on the peninsula. Since the Rockaway's is so isolated it can be hard for a landlord to find tenants so a homeless shelter is a easy way to make lots of money. We need to have more political leverage to make the deal not worth while. I moved to the Rockaway's in 2006 and I have yet seen the community fight hard enough to stop a shelter from moving in. I hope this time is different.

Putting this shelter here is going to be a disaster there 4 schools surrounding the shelter and add 96 men that are going to be wandering the neighborhood all day with nothing to do would anyone be comfortable with there children being in this scenario

We have absorbed more than our share of different shelters and homes and do not want any more. We are still struggling after Sandy to move ahead with our community projects.

I moved to rockaway 5 years ago. There is already a significant homeless and jobless issue here given the size of the peninsula. Adding to that is unfair to the residents and a danger, as well. Find another solution.

We should collectively buy the land from Mr Jo jo Rabinowitz ( slumlord owner who cares nothing about the people of Tockaway and our children). He paid 3 million for land. If 6 thousand of us contributed $500 each we could buy.
