Do not open a honekess shelter for 120 men in this area. It is not beneficial to their needs nor does the community have the resources to help them.

I think it would be best to place the homeless in our closed jails like Rikers. At the moment, the Rockaways already has a homeless shelter plus 4 projects already. I think we've done our share in serving the community already

Rockaway has done enough and we are still trying to put our community together .. puting a homeless shelter is not the answer .. to the homless crisis , and to put one steps away from schools is putting our middle class children in harms way... are we going to wait to see if one of theses kids get killled, rapped or abducted to realize it’s a bad idea... let’s think before we act.. let’s plan to see what makes sense !! Help us protect our children!!!

Words cannot adequately express how opposed I am to this homeless shelter. Rockaway has historically been a dumping ground for the homeless and crime ridden housing projects. On the one hand the Mayor touts Rockaway’s resurgence with projects such as the ferry. On the other, without any community outreach or input, he looks to open a homeless shelter housing dangerous and troubled individuals. This is the poorest excuse for a Mayor that this city has seen in a long time. He is an abject fool and a clear detriment to our Rockaway community. OPPOSED IN THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE TERMS!
