Rockaway is a great community and it always seems the Mayor and city administration officials are clueless about the peninsula and its need to support Rockaway and the people who reside there.
Rockaway has survived hurricane Sandy and its people are resilient as the area is back, better than ever. Ferries are packed in the summer with visitors coming from the outer boroughs and enjoying the beach, restaurants and activities that are provided.
Why would we want a homeless shelter NOW.
Perhaps Park Slope in Brooklyn would be an alternative !!!

It is sad there there are so many homeless people but the homeless need to contribiute to the community if they will be living here. Keep the place clean. We have enough mental place that are housing them and making the community unsafe.

I am very against the shelter as I have a small child and I am concerned about her safety. I do not feel comfortable with random jobless men passing around our neighborhood.

This is not a good idea fir the safety of our children and our community.this should not be done! Thecshelter system is full of criminals and more maybe that’s why so many sleep in the street because the shelters are dangerous I don’t need this in my backyard !

We have far to many shelters for a small community and believe it will erode business while we are trying to enhance our lovely beach and boardwalks
