Shouldn't have to pay a fee for an audition for entry to a drama school. No valid reason why they do?? The cost for travel expenses and accommodation as well as the course fees and college expenses are more than enough.

This is a money making scam .
And should be stoped .
The fees paid by each and every student of a drama school is extortionate, to charge simply for the chance of ailudtioning is wrong .
If you wish to take a deposit to ensure student turn up that is fine but this should be refunded in full after ifvthe student is not ofered a place .
And if a student is offered a place then this should be taken off their first fees .
This disadvantages working class applicants with true talent but simply can not afford the fee .
We need to encourage diversity not the silver spoon set ..
My daughter chose to go to University , she had triple Distinction in her BTEC and a live time of experience .
But 1 we could not afford the fees for auditions and 2 she decided such a restrictive selective process was not for her .
Talent not cash is the key .

Personally for me i don’t have the money to pay for drama school and i know you can get a student loan but some of the best ones are not eligble for that and it’s just not fair on us working class. I’m still 16 and it worries me already and it’s taking away my childhood and replacing it with anxiety and stress. I hope to go to drama school in london it's already expensive enough living there nevermind having to pay to go there. This kinda thing gives people mental health problems

Young people are often discouraged from pursuing acting as a career. Some are actually forbidden so apply with little or no support. It makes it so much less possible if they have no financial suppprt either. Also we are told as actors not to pay for ANY job or agency so why charge at Drama School???? It is hypocritical and outdated.

Fees to audition are a massive barrier to working class actors getting in to drama school.

I simply do not understand the mentality of creating barriers to opportunity in this way. Why the fee?

This is discriminatory to those that are the poorest and couod be just as talented that end up missing out because they cant afford it. This is something i faced over 10 years ago as i tryed for the drama schools but being homeless was only able to apply for one. I got in but ended up getting work touring and had to take it. Including the fees there is the travel involved that has to be paid for. Doesn't effect me know but would love to see this gone so we have the very best coming thu from all backgrounds
