The Arts more than any other programme should stop charging audition fees.

Audition fee’s are just a greedy way to make money. It’s way too expensive to be up and down the country travelling to these places never mind paying fees just to get seen to.

I'm auditioning for places I havent visited before hand, because I cant afford the travel costs for the open day as well as the audition day - I'm not the only one resorting to this.

These schools cash in on the fact that people are desperate to train. RADA and Bristol Old Vic are particularly guilty of this. For the price of one fifteen minute audition at these schools, I can receive over two hours of one-to-one coaching with a working actor. They take the piss because they know people will always pay. Drama School Fees should be offered free to those who cannot afford, and lowered for those who can. The current prices, discourage people, and limit their choices.

Disgraceful that students applying to University have this financial hurdle on top of the usual hurdles of travelling to universities, overnight accommodation etc.

I think it is outrageous but also a shame that such a beautiful art has so many barriers for potential inspirational artists

At the least there ought to be an exemption or a reduced fee for those travelling miles outside of London it's especially expensive and yes for many people especially unaffordable it's not right and it should be at least considered.

The audition fee adds to the financial and mental strain for working class actors. It's difficult enough to afford the travel, on top of the stress of getting into the drama school, the fee is another unequal barrier for working class people on low income to succeed in an industry that is made easier to reach for those with money.

These ridiculous fees are elitist. Sudents should be able to audition for schools without bankrupting themselves

Working class actors are unable to have the same opportunities as the elite because of money.
However: Talent is everywhere. Give everyone the same chance.

The divide in class between actors needs to be bridged. We can start with drama school fees.
