Is the trust just a matter of the access badge colour ? Very relevant as a security policy

I don't understand why EP has more trust in a new comer like a trainee than a extern that is working here for the past 10 years

This is getting worse and worse by day. Today they forces us to sign a document saying that we did not visit any infected region by the COVID-19 and when I asked what about the officials they told me that they have a "different process". So then I asked do they sign this "different process" before entering the building and they said "No!". So probably the virus only infects external personnel and not the officials. Oh! By the way, in Brussels one of the victims was an official: https://euobserver.com/institutional/147632

I have sent this petition to DG SAFE already, but I haven't got a reply yet about this discrimination.

If the parliament wanted to disgust us with Europe, it would not do otherwise. This discrimination is unacceptable, and it continues today with questions about our origins to contain the epidemic Covid-19. And of course as always in parliament this question is to be filled only by external personnel.

I might have to wear bra without metal in order not to make the alarm sound... or no bra at all. beside the joke, indeed that is a real discrimination. because we are external we are potential danger to our colleagues ?

Totalmente de acuerdo, las medidas de seguridad deben aplicarse para todos! Es inaceptable que las instituciones europeas promuevan la discriminación, es incoherente con sus planteamientos de igualdad.

I have been an external consultant to the EP for over 10 years. I feel part of this institution, and I am as dedicated to it as any employee. I am not shocked by the safe choice to control people entering the building, it even seems natural to me. But the security argument becomes meaningless if you only control half the people and the other half can enter without any control. Making a difference in treatment on the basis of status or anything else is, as already explained, the very definition of discrimination, it exists at the EP, it's a fact! But we have got used to this, after all it is only a security check. No, the most important thing in my opinion is to understand the reason for this two-tier treatment. As a reminder, a homogeneous treatment had been tried at the beginning and immediately received the wrath of persons who had the means to say NO. So either it is "active" discrimination, a choice fully conscious and assumed by the EP from the beginning, which I doubt. Or it is "passive" discrimination, a shaky situation which is clear proof that our institution does not have the means to impose a security policy on its own employees. Probably the freedom of its employees is more important than the safety of all.

Additionally it does not increase security or protect anybody from anything worth being afraid of.

As many here said: having security that should provide security for all employees, in the current scenario with this huge security hole (just to make the life easier for half of the employees which need that security),results in more danger to all employees in general, does not make any sense, who had the courage to approve this working method. YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE!!!
