STOP DEVELOPMENT Oppose plat proposal on Manitou Beach

Please be good island stewards. Development like this has no place on the island. It is not near a commercial center, it is taking advantage of a loophole. What happened to the shoreline protection act? Why are developers more important than ecology?

The following is the City of Bainbridge Islands statement regarding : The Growth Management Act (GMA) addresses the concerns of “uncoordinated and unplanned growth that potentially pose a threat to the environment, sustainable economic development, and the health, safety and high quality of life enjoyed by residents.” An important part of a healthy economy is the quality of the environment.

This proposed development is totally incompatable with the neighborhood and the surrounding homes. Please either stop this development or make them follow All the city/state regulations. This area is rural Bainbridge, not another high density zone. Thank you Bob Jenness 10661 Manitou Park

ENOUGH already!! Visconti, the Wyatt Way ugliness (plus another 15 acres of trees gone), proposals for the Sakai property, and now THIS? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Enough with people only concerned about Making Money and don't give a rat's ass about the destruction of the environment that makes this Island unique; so close to Seattle and so rural and uncluttered.

This proposal will be a detriment to the environment and Puget Sound. Manitou's one-way road is already in disrepair - this development will only make it worse. I strongly oppose it.

Strongly opposed. This development does not align with a beautiful Bainbridge that protects the environment.

Having been raised on Bainbridge Island, I have been pushed to pursue my Master's in City and Regional Planning exactly to be able to understand the dynamics behind decisions like this. This proposal is not consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and directly violates the Shoreline Masters Plan. In doing so, the City should fully recognize it's liability for lawsuit that will likely be filed against the City should this plan be approved.

I strongly oppose the plat proposal on Mantiou Beach.

Please do not allow this development to happen. This is near my family's property and a beach known for its diversity of wildlife. Rare spaces like these cannot be re-natured once they are developed. Let's make sure that the feel of the island and its many great features remain for generations.

Save the puget Sound. Don't dig our sacred parts of the earth into a deeper hole of destruction.

The Planning Department has informed me they will continue to consider our objections through the middle of November!! So please continue to inform others to join our cause and STOP THE DEVELOPERS!!

The Lynnwood fiasco by the city staff should be sufficient to put development on hold for obviously our staff aren't doing their job.

Please stop rubber stamping these developments. The COBI cannot be trusted to monitor approved plans that are in place. Example, the Wyatt Way development. No regard for people "down stream" and how the run off from this piece is being handled. The site plan called for some trees to remain and there are none except at the south side. They will eventually die as the root systems have been cut into. Stop making the same mistakes over and over. Say NO on this project.

Protect the Puget Sound

The presence of an eel-grass bed should require a study, not seemingly-automatic DNS. It is also disturbing that the City is allowing a short plat, with the extra weight that entails on an unstable bank. If our City government intends not to require compliance with City code and state law, we could save a lot of money and disband the planning department.
