Stop Developer Campaign Donations

I fully agree that builders in Howard County, Maryland should not be allowed to give financial donations to county council candidates.

Stop building new homes if we don't have infrastructure to support. Common sense 101

Enough is enough.

I agree On my street they took down 1 house and put up two homes. We are at the bottom of a hill. Good old Howard County moves the storm drain up the hill so rhe two homes could have a shared driveway. Three homes farther down hill took on water in the second flood and I had water in both basement and garage. I ve been I. My home since 1982 and NEVER had this problem till 2 nd floor. Still have nt ever gotten anyone in Howard County to address this problem. As they say “water has to go somewhere” But water does go downhill a rather steep hill crosses the road and goes into my home . Howard County doesn t care about individual home owners I m still trying to get SOMEONE to correct the problem and put the storm drain at bottom of slope and a larger one like there was before.

I cannot believe anyone thinks this is not needed. There is no way elected official can justify taking money from special interest groups.

Ethics should be common sense however some are out for their own self interest and don’t act properly.

No special interest $ should ever be "donated" to any politician.

All contributions between business/monied interests and elected and appointed officials / public servants MUST END! All public servants (elected or appointed) must work for and answer to the people first and foremost.

This is long overdue.

This questionable practice has long troubled me. County officials grant developers permits to build countless developments to the detriment of all county residents. Our infrastructure cannot handle this over development. Repeated flooding in Old Ellicott City is a prime example of lack of concern for the environment or the citizens.

I do think that we are losing too many green spaces that is not only effecting community resources and distribution but also not taking into account the animals that live on these spaces

Set up penalties for developers that continue to do this practice if this peitition is passed. Have regulations in place for clarity.

In the interest of people for better future.

Stop developing!

Over development is ruining this county. Too many apartments, condos and subsidized housing built. Many developers do not live here and have to fight the traffic. Too much money is being wasted on bike paths. People won't go food shopping on their bikes, church, work during snow storms, etc. etc. This is America not Europe. Density is causing serious problems especially for established neighborhoods. We need politicians with common sense not politicians who cater to developers.

Developers in Howard County have way too much power: they seem to regularly get whatever zoning exceptions they want, and their development fees are lower than in any of the neighboring counties. Allowing them to continue to donate to County politicians only enhances that power. It's time to put developers on a more even footing with the residents of Howard County - eliminating their ability to acquire favors by donating to politicians would be a step in the right direction.

Stop developers contributing to political campaigns.

Thank you Lisa for working toward the reduction of conflicts of interest for Howard County Executives and Council Members. I hope they are smart enough to understand and support your effort. The long-term benefits to Howard County as a whole if you are successful will be great.
