Money should be kept out of electoral process. It undermines democracy.

The county Executives and council members current and former should finance the repair of the flooded Ellicott City! They and the developers should be held accountable!

I am so upset & frankly, angry with how our county has been disregarded. The development, traffic, loss of open, wooded land has increased by leaps & bounds. I feel Howard County will never be the wonderful place to live in harmony & peace. I’m tired of seeing dead wildlife on the roads each day due to lack of woodlands. Our children, for sure are not safe either. SICKENING!!!

As a former HoCo resident who was raised and attended public school grades 1-12 in this county, I wholeheartedly and fully support this bill! It’s about time these sly, back door practices come to an end!

Corporations should not be considered as 'people', and should not be allowed to contribute to any political campaign.

All government, local or state or federal should start thinking smart growth. Over development at the price of our environment and quality of life is not worth it.

Financing of local political campaigns by developers is the greatest threat to democratic local government

It is a real shame that we actually have to circulate a petition regarding this issue. Shame on Howard County government for allowing developers to take priority instead of the children of the Howard County communities.

Growth without a proper planing only happens in the cancer cells and we all know what that causes to the body!

I agree with this, even a perceived conflict of interest (PCOI) prevents these types of situations from arising in normal business. Ethics should prevent (constituent elected) politicians campaigns from accepting donations where there is a PCOI. So since that can't be counted on, a law should prevent it from happening. Bribes shouldn't be acceptable practice even if they are called something else.

It’s not only contributions in $ but a network of interests supporting developers. It’s time to make DPZ a regulator again and NOT a facilitator!
