An awful practice! Invented by humans for "our" convenience. If you think furniture is more important than your pet, you don't deserve that animal in your life.

Declawing is an abusive pratice that leaves many cats crippled and in pain for their entire lives. Many declawed cats are given to shelters because of subsequent toileting issues because litter is now painful. There's no humane reason for this.
