Plenty of existing pharmacies, chain stores, and congestion in that area already. Removing three homes and an affordable rental property just doesn't seem justified.

Three pharmacies within one block of each other is ridiculous! If Boise needs a CVS, there are plenty of better locations to choose from, away from the competition and not at the cost of housing or the history of our neighborhoods. PLEASE find a different location!!!

There are a bunch of places that CVS could operate in that do not require tearing down buildings -- historical and dense ones especially. I oppose CVS being allowed to destroy the fabric of Boise's neighborhood. For whatever limited, short-term economic gain it might have, it would be destroying long term livability, vibrancy and innovation in that neighborhood for which Boise City is supposedly striving.

This neighborhood has plenty of pharmacies. It does not have nearly enough affordable housing.

Unnecessary corporate encroachment on Boise’s neighborhood fabric. There are literally empty lots all over Boise, including downtown.

All these pharmacies are clones of each other why put in another one close to it's twin? What is the deal with Scoggin, sitting on the board at the Interfaith Sanctuary while making people homeless for profit?

Save our neighborhoods

I fully agree that a strip-mall CVS is not appropriate for this site. The character of west downtown, and of downtown Boise, would be marred by a large box facility and its parking lot. To contrast, it IS possible to build a modern drug store with appropriate character - see the many Duane Reade's in New York City. (I stop short of agreeing that CVS is not appropriate anywhere.)

This proposal has the ability to ruin an historic neighborhood. Boise has lost too many historic areas. It is also unnecessary and redundant since there are two pharmacies within two blocks of this space. We have also lost too much affordable housing. Twenty three apartments will be lost if this goes through.

Rite Aid is all we need. We do not need a CVS in our neighborhood, what we need is affordable, safe housing.

I am not opposed to increasing commercial value in that area. However, there is no need for a cvs next to a rite Aid and Albertsons.

Please keep our neighborhood historic. No need for another store like this in our neighborhood.

This is not an action that helps the Boise community.

I am a doctor who works in this neighborhood and agreed that yet another pharmacy is the last thing we need. Certainly not fair what is being done to the people who live and work on that block. I will be telling all of my patients to stay away from CVS.

If this goes through, the Arcadia Apartments will be torn down. Rent here is $390 a month, and includes heating and AC. Most live here because there is no where else to go. Section 8 housing's waiting list is 5 years long, and other programs, such as Section 42, have a two year waiting list. I'm signed up for such a program, but there will be no option to wait for my name to come through the list. Since places like this don't advertise, it's almost impossible to find another - I nearly ended up homeless before finding this one as it is, due to the last place I was at being shut down.

Not "wise use" and State Street is already a problem.
