We have first-hand experience of the difference difference additional support in the classroom makes - our daughter would still be struggling now if it wasn't for the fantastic support she received.
I don't know how these cuts can even be considered - I completely understand savings have to be made somewhere but targeting the most vulnerable in society is not the way to go. Sadly ironic given the year of young people is being celebrated across the UK this year too! We need to invest in supporting our young people.

These are very important members of staff in our schools. Many children need this service. Whoever authorised this cut should be ashamed of themselves.

I am totally against these cuts. They target the most vulnerable in our community and that is not something any of us should stand behind.

Once again savings are being proposed which will harm the most needful and vulnerable in our society.

In this day and age I silmply can't believe this is even a consideration!!! There are so many more children being identified with additional needs than ever, so why identify children who need support and then fail to privide it.

These supports are vital. Cutting front line staff is a false economy and only has greater impacts further down the line

Its shocking that these councillors are wanting to leave the kids with such little help at school that everyone is left struggling, the teachers, the kids who need extra help and the kids who can't be taught properly because of the kids who need extra help taking all the teachers attention!

I am a learning support worker and think we are a worthwhile expense in education unlike top tier jobs in education. (Qio's)

With over £200 million in reserves, this cut in support for the most disadvantaged kids is a disgraceful decision.

The proposed cuts give me great concern about the quality of future education for all our children.

As a primary school teacher, I know how valuable it is to have a teaching assistant to help in class. Some children need extra support and over learning which Just wouldn’t be possible without a TA. They are essential and our children will be the ones to suffer if there are cuts.
