This cannot be justified while services are being cut. Allowances should have to be justified by receipts.

Any cut-backs should start with councillors salaries and expenses!!

If public services are being cut due to austerity then those elected to serve in public office should not award themselves pay rises or increase expense allowances, no exception!

How can you give yourselves a pay rise when your shutting toilets and other services. You must be short of cash councillors oh that's a lie as Cornwall Council has a very healthy savings account.
