My children are in our public schools and being subjected to the Common Core curriculum. My husband and I both hold B.S. degrees and both of us find this system to be not only a waste of time, but It is confusing to the kids. It is time to stop it before it ruins an entire generation of good students.

By supporting Common Core, our Governor Susana Martinez has shown that she is controlled by the federal government, and can't be trusted to protect and promote good education in New Mexico. She must be stopped in this next election cycle.

Common Core is killing education in New Mexico, and the nation. Remove the Common Core standards from our nation's schools now.

Is there no way to reason with the Governor in this? How can she not see other states walking away from Common Core and not do the same? Is New Mexico receiving that much money that she just can't let go of it? How do we stop this?

Common Core is going to be the downfall of an entire generation that is being treated like lab rats. The theory behind it was probably a good one, but the resulting curriculum is going to cause the dumbing down of the United States. If you want to bring the standards of education up, you need to look at the countries around the world that have higher standards and base a curriculum on theirs. It works and doesn't involved re-creating the wheel of learning. Please, PLEASE get rid of Common Core. The future of our socio-economic structure in this nation depends on it.

Get rid of common core and put education back in the hands of the state and our teachers. Our children will not benefit from common core.

Common Core is not a state led initiative. It is short sighted on the PED and elected officials to say we only accepted the Standards. Standards drive the curriculum. Most of our curriculum and tests are now aligned with the Common Core Standards.

Halt the implementation of Common Core. It is very expensive. It take local control away. It dumbs down the curriculum. It data mines our children. All are against Federal laws. Regulations withstanding, it is unfit for our state.

This is all about separating children from their parents and data mining to give the gov control over every aspect of our lives. We are headed for some scary dark times if we can't get this stopped.

Common Core is doing more damage than good for teachers, students and parents. It takes out common sense in the learning and the whole educational system. It's a joke that needs to be remedied.

My son is only in kindergarten and I can see the effects of this common core learning. He comes home defeated and hates school. He tells me all the time he is dumb and why can't he be smart.im not gonna send my kids to publish schools anymore if this goes on.

Common Core is an over complicated system that is hurting our children more than helping them. It adds stress and frustration to their lives, leaving them to face depression and anxiety when heading to school or returning home from it. I would like to know where to send the therapist bill when my son ends up clinically depressed because he can't understand or easily pass a class for a subject he normally does well in.
