Our children learn in different ways and on different levels. Do not box our children into YOUR standards and wants. My children are not your robot. I will always refuse the testing you are so hellbent on doing.

Common Core makes no sense.. Parents can not help their children with homework because we are not allowed to show them an easier and faster way to do math.. My 2nd grader now hates school when before she loved it and could do math problems in her head and now with common core it takes us up to an hour to do 6 math problems. That is ridiculous. Teachers are being blamed for the kids not understanding and passing.. This is not the teachers fault. Common Core doesn't belong in schools..

As a school board president I am terrified at what is in common core and the move away from local control of our schools.

Common Core is developmentally inappropriate for ages 5-9 year olds. All grades spend more time testing than teaching standards. Billions of dollars are being paid to the testing companies. This money could be used in many ways to improve our schools, students needs and teacher's pay. Please read all you can about this subject. Nearly all states that adopted CC are now trying to stop it. Children are being stressed out. CC restricts change, creativity and the individual thinking process that creates are brightest students. It takes power away from our tax payers, local school districts and parents. Good teachers are leaving the profession, some 339 NM teachers have let since 2013.

Each state should regulate the public schools in their state. Federal Government cannot do anything efficiently.

More socialism to be introduced to our children this time. This NM so-called Secretary of Education (from Florida, not NM) has no experience in education except to implement this Common Core in Florida for Jeb Bush. We have plenty of educated folks in NM to have to hire this person from Florida who wants this socialistic education (more like indoctrination) for our young people.
