Common Core is not helping our children. Please stop this wrong method of teaching! I am an Engineer with. a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Engineering. The way Common Core is teaching these kids math is insane! This will only hurt them in the work force later on.

Let education be directed at the State level. This encourages competition between the States that fuels innovation and improvement. If run at a National level compliance rather than creative enhancement becomes the goal.

We need to stop this madness! This is such an unnatural way of learning. Learn to read by looking at a picture? BS! Here's a 100 marbles, kid. Now add 5 + 8 but make sure you show your work using all of your marbles. BS! Kids can't learn like this. Especially little kids. There is no room to be creative because they want EVERY kid to be little robots that basically will learn to hate school because all they care about is how well they do on tests.. We as parents aren't supposed to torture and stress out our little kids when they each learn their own way at their own pace. They aren't all from one cookie cutter. They're individuals who should be treated as such. Nobody wants to see their kids crying every night doing their homework.

why fix what isn't broke? Up to this point we were all taught the traditional way and it worked just fine. Common Core is confusing and I often cannot help my cho because I don't understand it.

Common Core is bad for our children and unconstitutional. It must be stopped now. Let's put Michigan back as a leader in education and be an example to other states.

I can understand the desire to improve education for those that simply cannot grasp methods or pass tests.
However, by implementing Common Core, ALL children are now at risk.
All you have to do is look at how many schools have been downgraded over the last few years.
If you truly want to help the children, start by helping the parents of low achievers. Get these parents to take a active role in their child’s life. It starts at home.
There are families that work with their kids and strive to help their children excel in all aspects of their lives.
Those are the children that are being held back from exceeding in their education and ultimately their future.
Is this what you really want? To reduce these children to the mere shells of what they could become in life?
Common Core is WRONG.
You sold out the children for a few bucks from the federal government.
Not only are they inheriting an enormous debt due to government spending, but now they won’t get the education they need to excel in life to pay that debt.
Common Core is WRONG.
STOP the attack on Children!

My 5th grader is doing 2nd grade math. She got 1 out of 20 wrong on her math test and got a "3" as a grade. Her friend got 6 out of 20 wrong and also got a "3". My child believes she deserves a "4" and I agree with her. If this (MY)republican party doesn't wake up, I will work as hard as I can against it.
