My kids can't take another year of Common Core! I can't help them with their homework, when they have questions! Grade school math shouldn't be this complicated!!!!! Very unhappy mother!

This needs to stop. It is only benefiting Bill Gates and not our children. It is taking them longer to do math and not making them understand any better.

I do NOT support Common Core education. Please vote to stop Common Core. Education is a city, county, state responsibility. I do not want the federal governmnet involved in any fashion.

My Daughter will be in school soon and I don't want her to be disenchanted with poorly written "standards" and a focus on tests, I want her to enjoy learning and get interested in the math and sciences. Education needs to be creative and fun. Take the creativity and fun out of education and you take away our competitive advantage on the international stage with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. I keep hearing reports that other countries have better education then ours(maybe they do now, now that we have common core) my question is who put the first man on the moon, who created companies like Google and Apple, There is a reason why other countries want to be like us. Bangalore may be hammering out a lot of engineers but there is a reason why these countries still have to hire western engineers to help them solve engineering problems. We need more youth getting interested in STEM if we have any hope for the future. Rather than trying to create some new system that doesn't work let's get back to teaching our kids the basics so they can build on them. One educator told me they don't do multiplication tables anymore, instead they want them to write out sentences to teach them concepts, who decided this was a good idea, and why don't I have a say in this. Just like constructing a building you have to build a strong foundation before building on it or else the first strong wind will knock it down. I am opposed to Common Core and I am opposed to No Child Left Behind.

Thank you for circulating this! I have been against common core from the beginning and have had to already start supplementing my children's education outside of school because of the lack of basic learning in these standards!
