common core is a complete scam by the government to make them look good and it does nothing for our children. Just another way for them to control how we teach "OUR" kids. It needs to be stopped just like our president and his health care. we need to have more control than they do. Federal government stay out of our schools!!!!!!

Stop Common Core now. Aside from its mission to create mediocrity, my sons are miserable with the overly ridiculous amount of additional homework. This must stop. These kids must be allowed to be kids - education is very important but so is a child's happiness.

give us back the right to teach our classrooms the way we see fit! To individualize the classroom to fit our students needs!

You know something is amiss when DoE and local school authorities won't tell parents the truth about opting out of the PARCC field tests. They want our kids on the data base.

It is sad when students that are ready to soar are not allowed to because of the common core standards in place. Too many kids are being harmed by this practice.

The Common Core standards are bad not so much for what they contain now but for what education activists could put in them later. Things like deemphasizing great literature that connects and lifts up our culture for the sake of reading and filling out government forms is just one glaringly bad idea among many right now, but in the future they could require the reading of literature and propaganda that local parents would never tolerate if they new. So children will become the pawns, as they have far too much already, of elitist activists. This is intolerable in a free society. The tests have been said to already contain race and sexual orientation sensitivity questions. Educationist like Linda Darling-Hammond have certainly indicated that they intend to include questions that will yield this kind of data on students and this will all be recorded in Federal data bases. Please say no to this entire program now!

Common Core Standards is clearly a Progressive attempt to indoctrinate our children in the ideology of Liberal Progressivism.

Absolutely not. Please, not in KS! I spent a lot of time researching Common Core at an unbiased stance and I found way more negative than good and finding pretty much all my questions unanswered. I feel the people implementing this meant well, but it was very poorly put together and comes off very shady. There is little clarification on major issues. Just blind promises and as a parent, that is extremely concerning. Laws (FERPA) were specifically changed so personal information (social skills, attributes, dispositions, attitudes & intra personal resources) can be released to whomever CCSS deems to have viable interest without parental consent. (Per USDOE Feb 2013 report).

Every kid learns differently, so there is not one fits all. More importantly we should not let government take control our kids!!!

I am in support of local control of Education in Kansas. We do not need the Federal Government dictating terms on our state level.
