The teachers aren't to blame for this but government officials...we all want parents to be more involved in our children's priority of homework but how can we be..parents get frustrated because we don't understand this stuff, children get frustrated because we can't help them...we know answers but not how to do it the way they are supposed to...a usual half hour of math homework takes 4 times longer to do this...really...

If it isn't broke... don't fix it!!!! Should have been left alone! Children can rise to the occasion when successfully pushed/ inspired to strive for excellence. Let's not lump them all into equal mediocrity just so the less inclined/ less motivated feel better!!!!

All this is doing is confusing the kids...and the parents who don't know how to help them. I have watched both of my girls struggle not understanding what the teacher is saying. But as soon as I explain it the way I was taugh (the right way) their light bulb goes off and away they go!! Get rid of it!!!

We need to go back to the way math used to be taught. I don't see how this is making it any better to teach common core ,what are the kids gaining from it ? I see they are frustrated it's taking more time to complete their homework assignments.

Common core is horrible my child has such a hard time and went from an a in math to D-F. I'm not happy with this.
