This is a much more difficult way to do this math than the previous way. Too confusing for children

My daughter struggled with common core for nearly 3 hours her entire 3rd grade year...I tried to help as much as possible...but to no avail...it absolutely makes no sense...people will move to the states that do not use common core...have some COMMON SENSE

i agree that common core should be thrown out. i was pretty good in math bit there is no way this standard is easier than regular math..i have even heard teachers not liking this method. so please get rid of it.

Common core is NOT helping our kids! These kids get frustrated and are ready to give up! Why should we allow our kids to give up? Common core is setting them up for failure!!

Instead of "no child left behind," we need "no child is the same." I can no longer sit by and watch my kids suffer. They are being set up for failure and it's heartbreaking.

I work in a school and my children attend there. I am saddened to see my 2nd and 3rd grader in tears nightly over their math homework. I am considering pulling them out of school in order to give them a more solid

My child is 7 and was great at addition and subtraction at the age of 5. Now that she is 7 and her school is pushing common core math she struggles with basic math such as 13-4!!!! This is unbelievably ridiculous. Every night has become a huge ball of stress working with her on her homework. Watching my child go from, starting to learn multiplication (learning at home) at the age of 6 and now going on 8 in January, she can barely do subtraction. COMMON CORE NEEDS TO GO!!
