It is difficult to help my kids at home with their homework! How are we suppose to help when I (the parent) cannot grasp the new methods that go along with these subjects. Get rid of this non sense for the sake of the kids, teachers and parents!

My son is autistic and just started kindergarten. The amount of homework they have can be a little overwhelming. All kids are being taught like they are all the same. He is beginning to think that he is not the same, calling him self stupid or saying that he can't do something like the other kids. I am scared for the next few years and if he will be able to keep up.

After review of the Common Core Education Standards, I am scared that I will not be able to afford to send my child to private school. I can't believe the education system has gotten this bad and completely controlled by the bottom dollar and not about the education of our children. Private company's are controlling our education system and it must stop.

Get rid of the ridiculous math! You cannot teach kids like they are all the same! Some kids have different learning styles learn at different rates! Kids are failing! This is effecting grades which will effect sport eligibilty and some club eligibilty!

We are unable to help our kids with this new math. There was nothing wrong with old math. All this is going to do is cause our children to be unsuccessful and cause their grades to go down when they will not b using this kind of math when they need to solve a problem.

As a mother of 2 5th graders and an 11th grader I have noticed a marked difference in the way my oldest child was taught verses my youngest. Common Core Standards are not only difficult to understand for the child but they are for the parents as well. Last school year I could not help my daughter in 4th gd. because of the common core. I showed her how to solve her math problem and she started crying because if she turned in what I showed her to do she would get the problem wrong! Now I'm no genius but this should speak volumes to those that are setting these standards. I have let my daughter know that if common core continues to be taught in her school I will pull her out and home school her. As many parents probably will follow suit!

Parents love and value their children as individuals, governments look at them as gross national products. How can a government choose what is best for my child in my family? The federal government was already made a mess of things, grabbing greater and greater power for themselves while ignoring The Constitution by which all citizens enjoy personal freedom. It is time for all Americans to stand up and say,"No" to those who believe they are superior or more knowledgeable than the individual parent or American citizen simply because of their finances or world views. We want children that are kind, generous to those in need, and wise(wisdom is knowing what to do with the truth/facts learned. A real education is not gained in ignoring truth and facts because they do not fit our world view. Education is not to see how many people we can get to agree with the world view we personally like, or to validate some politcal view point we think is right or lifestyle we choose, but to give our child the Truth by which to build their lives.The government that steals and consumes the rights of parents and its citizens by whom its very existince is supported kills itself.
