There has to be something better than common core for our children. Competition, self-reliance, and following of righteous principles is what we need to be teaching our kids.

This is destroying our children and their individualism. It is creating anxiety and extreme depression in all the high schoolers that I know. Stop this now.

Ada county parent. I have a freshman in high school that can't seem to figure common core out. She went from being a B student in math to now an F student. This has devastated her. She is a high school athlete and is not eligible to play with that F. We have had meetings with the school and the teacher directly and nothing has helped. I don't feel that all kids are able to learn math this way. Where are my rights as a parent and how do I help my daughter that is having so much anxiety over this grade and subject that she is physically sick. Did I mention the last meeting and email said they have done all they can do... They are giving up on my daughter and seem to be ok if she fails freshman math. I just don't know what to do

A provision of the Race to the Top grant process required states that wanted to access Federal money to build massive student databases. These databases would include over 400 metrics on each student including health histories, disciplinary record, family income range and religious affiliation. The Department of Education recently gutted Federal education privacy laws in order to allow sharing of this data with other Federal agencies and with private entities. They claim that they must collect all data from pre-school through the work force in order to see how their education policies are working. Student and family privacy must be sacrificed for the greater good in the process. The Department of Education is open about planning to share this data with the Department Labor so the government can track children from pre-school through their career. This is a truly chilling vision of a progressive Big Brother school to work dream so that the student can be plugged into the managed economic system Common Core is just another name added to a long list of failed federal programs. The federal money strings mean losing local control of education.

I am willing to do anything to help stop Common Core. I have seen it at work and it scares me to death!

Get rid of it all! The more I hear the more I get sickened for what the future will look like.

Ada county, I put my kids in the best school I could find and now this standardized testing is going to turn it into a school just as mediocre as the rest of them.

We want control of our schools brought back to Idaho and the local districts.

They never thought about the children who take a little extra time & help to learn. They will be so far behind, they'll end up failing. It's disgusting!

Idaho and parents of Idaho students should have the right to say what their students are taught and how they are taught. This is basic freedom required by the constitution
