Keep education and the decisions for our children local. Don't let Bill Gates or the federal government make money off of data mining Idaho children and their families.Don't let them make a dime off testing and failing and retesting using their sub standard liberal biased testing agenda.Common Core Stinks to high heaven!

Kootenai County My grand daughter (4th Grade) formerly good in Math now is in tears and requires a tutor. My grandson (1st Grade) says," This does not make sense, so I did it the old way." We gave 1 school year of wasted tax dollars, a child in tears, non sense, frustrated parents, frustrated grand parents, teachers that "Teach to the test", inefficient problem resolution, but no more. It was tried and failed miserably. The common sense solution is cut your losses and dump it now. This system is destroying a children's curiosity and love of learning.

Idaho is in trouble as too many of our Republicans are rino's. I believe they are dishonestly signing as R so they can get in office. I hope we can do more to ferret them out. Even Otter and his group are in on it.

Children are not common. They are all different. Children gifted with more intellligence and drive should be allowed to move ahead faster.

One of the main reasons I supported Russ Fulcher for Governor, including a letter to editor in Idaho Statesman. Otter's had over 40 years as Governor. Now, what do we do in November. We know the democrat candidate with support Common Core. Hold our nose, vote for Butch & fight Common Core all the way.

I will be an Idaho State Representative in January 2015 and In representing my District 2 we are opposed to Idaho's common core. that is one of many reasons 5 incumbents lost their legislative positions.

Relunctantly I pulled my child from public school and an homeschooling because of Common Core. The standards are developmentally inappropriate, students with learning disabilities can NOT be taught the same things at the same time as those without LDs, the standards the way they stand now WILL NOT prepare our children for any higher education beyond either a 2 year program or a technical training. Bill Gates said, " We’ll know we’ve succeeded when the curriculum and the tests are aligned to these standards." In my opinion, the goal the whole time has been control of the curriculum as evident by the fact that Gates (a college drop out himself) has poured billions into the various companies that will be profiting from the change of curriculum, testing, and data collection. He has made sure that he got what he wanted by giving money to the CCSO, the NGA, and Achieve. Common Core standards have neither been tested or evaluated in an international capacity as was stated by those who support it. All it is doing is dumbing down our students and preparing them for a general workforce future without a college degree.

Recind any and all requirements for testing aligned to Common Core. Reject tax-supported charter schools and school choice which are corporate/government partnerships which take away elected representation and local control.

Idaho County. The founding fathers had the desire to give our country freedom. They were well educated men and were compelled to study those important subjects that were pertinent to a God driven life. How we educate our families must be and needs to be an individual decision. This common core is just one more way to take control of free men and put us into bondage. I am so grateful to those who have sacrificed their time, effort, and energy to press forward and continue the battle in keeping us free.
