Twin Falls County. Common Core only forces our kids toward mediocrity. Creative, out-of-the-box thinking is discouraged and punished by poor test scores. Interesting that we were able, as a country, to put a man on the moon back in the 1960s with only that "reading, writing, and 'rithmatic" kind of teaching. Implementation of standards without rigorous evaluation BEFOREHAND is ridiculous. I am ashamed that our state jumped on this band wagon without thinking about the implications for our youth. As a member of the School Board for my children's school, I object to having my highly performing school penalized by Common Core and request that the state and federal government leave us alone until our students don't perform well. Why should we have to change what we teach and how we teach it if we can demonstrate that our children are successful in college and in their adult lives? Our college attendance rate last year was 93%.

Common Core is an attempt by the far left to destroy this country. Fight it.or we will loose this country as we know it. They are poisoning our kids to believe America is a bad country. The truth is name one better. Yes, we have made mistakes and they should be taught honestly. Capitalism is not evil. I completely agree with this petition I hope we can spread the word and get rid of common core.
