I am a student at Rocky Mountain High School currently in the common core system. I HATE IT!!!!! MY TEACHER HATES IT, MY CLASSMATES HATE IT, EVERYONE HATES IT!! We are learning why numbers FEEL the way they do when we do math the old way, they feel like we do it to fast and need to understand why we got the answer we did. NOBODY CARES WHY! 2+2=4 because it does, I have no idea why we need to understand why. The men who put us on the moon and designed the IPhone didn't need to know why math works they just had to be able to do it. Why should we have to know why!? We shouldn't!!!

Having already raised our boys and
turned them loose years ago, we have been out of touch with the
educational system until recently,
through other families with children
still in the system . We continue to be agitated with the overreach of
government, but not surprised. It's
time to put a stop to the fed's push
for more control over our lives.

I volunteer in my kids school, and concerned common core is failing our kids. This generation is being used as the test generation and if it fails what will happen when they are adults? It is creating a further disconnect between kids who struggle and those who have the support and help. There are no math books at my kids school because they just use the common core system. Kids are lost and cannot go back to previous chapters to refresh on how to do a concept. This is bad for our kids and bad for Idaho.
