Have you heard about Common Core? The chilling truth behind these new national educational "standards" will terrify you. Common Core represents the latest and most comprehensive step in the drive toward complete government control of our children's education. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si-kx5-MKSE

Our education programs should be ran by the State of Idaho, not the Federal Gov. Our sorry Govenor signed us up for common core along with Obamacare, when we didn't want either.

Ada county. I'm trying to get up to speed on common core and what I have seen thus far has been disappointing. The worst part is the misdirection of the officials trying to push it through.

The people who support Common Core only support it based on the curriculum aspect (that's fine; everyone is entitled to their own opinions). Sadly, they do not realize that Common Core is being used as a vehicle to pass a multitude of very concerning laws that will affect our lives in ways that one would not expect from an "education" reform bill.

Please model the integrity, critical thinking, and communication skills we hope to teach our children... understand the seriousness and depth of Common Core, inform the teachers and parents of what is really going on, and then please take the necessary steps to end this in our state. Canyon County

Please educate my child, not standardize my child! Our children deserve better, our country deserves better.

I seriously doubt there is even a need for such a thing as a centralized curriculum. Also, there are serious ethical and moral objections to removing local control from our state's school districts and giving the federal government even more power than they already have.
