If the ban was proposed to stop noise, imagine how noisy clean up will be without gas leaf blowers since it will take hours to clean up a lawn. Another big problem is the no-more-than-one-piece-of-equipment-at-a-time rule. What, instead of 1/2 hr, they want a weekly lawn service to make noise all day long?

I live in Greenhaven. I’ve fully electrified my home. The technology is not ready for this kind of deployment, and the result will be significant cost escalation for minimal benefit. I also work from home full time and have no noise concerns.

The carve out in the proposed rules for City owned properties is arbitrary and pernicious. Why should taxpaying residents be penalized by irrational and impractical rules that don’t apply to City properties. One argument in favor of the proposed rules is the health impact of running gas powered units, yet the City are willing to expose children attending public schools and facilities to the very same dangers.

The fossil fuel use that creates the electricity we use is just as polluting or moreso than the actual use of oil and gas. The less efficiency of electric blowers will extend the labor and time required by landscapers, and therefore the "noisy" period of use.
Restrict the hours but don't ban altogether. give a tax break to landscapers who switch??
The leaf blower ban is unrealistic with today’s technology. Review the battery powered options in ten years, but for now, let the existing technology do its job.

I have no problem with the ban during the months that do not involve spring and fall cleanup. My landscaper has complied with the current regulations and uses battery powered blowers - quite successfully - during the months when gas powered blowers have been banned. My property is a little over an acre in size with many trees and SO MANY leaves. It is unrealistic to think that these same battery powered blowers - even the larger push kind - can do the more difficult work of spring and especially fall cleanup work. I am all for keeping the riles as they are, currently, and oppose a complete ban.
