Where do you stop? Make everyone buy new equipment! Ban gas mowers too! How about cars?

This is rediculous that the city council would even waster their time on something like this. What’s next no snow blowers? We pay plenty of taxes to live in rye and should have the right to use whatever equipment we want to maintain our property and that right should cover the landscapers we hire. . If you feel strongly about this then don’t use gas on your property or take the leaves yourself but don’t dictate what I want to do on my property

Maintenance equipment of all types (including back pack blowers) increases efficiencies for the homeowner and contractor. It’s time to consider having a Contractor’s viewpoint instead of housewives who never operated a business.

Residents do not want to pay extra for these services. Especially senior residents on fixed income

This is unfair to tax paying home owners who need landscapers to maintain their property. Stop the nonsense akready!

This is a very bad legislation. The city council is only going against the Landscaping Industry, but allows other departments within the municipality to use gas leaf blowers or different industry which board of legislation says it is good for the environment. The city council refuses to understand that using lithium battery powered products is more lethal for the environment and the individuals that use it also. Not even your fire department or any other fire department can put these fires out, weather it be blower, lawn mower or any product that runs on lithium ion battery product or even a full battery or hybrid EV vehicle, but the city council refuses to listen to these concerns, but are only worried about their agenda. There is more for me to say, but this would have to be on an open discussion. I am not someone that is not for change, but change that needs to be common sense.

6 Hidden Spring Lane Rye< NY 10580 This proposal is not only unrealistic, it is outrageous for people with larger properties, extensive landscaping, and higher real estate taxes vis-a-vis Greenwich that likely will impact Rye's physical appearance and financial attractiveness. Also why are schools and City owned or maintained properties/parks etc. exempt.? Would appreciate a a detailed written response to this unfair legislation proposal

We need gas blowers battery blowers is not really equipment to do our job properly

This is another governmental overreach and isolated to one type of equipment and one industry extreme prejudice without justification

I have been doing landscaping in Rye for over 40 years. A lot of my clients are not for the band and restrictions of leaf blowers and lawn equipment. It is my hope that it’s just not the few on the board and a few that attend meetings that are deciding on this and that the city has reach reached out to every resident through emails, letters and notices throughout the town for all to understand and have a voice in this.

This will increase my land Scaping cost exponentially.

This is clearly DISCRIMINATION against the average Rye property owner and Landscapers - (Discrimination is the process of making unjustified distinctions between people based on the groups, classes, or other categories to which they belong or are perceived to belong). Don't people with 3 acres or more, children in schools, people in hospitals or churches, country clubs members breath and hear like the average person, why are these exempt?

Really you will impact the safety of your residents and impact the cleanliness of the town Very sad for the few that complain vs the the majority that care about this service
