STOP City of Rye Leaf Blower Ban

We need better laws or regulations Gas powered leaf blowers are essential in a every four season state.

There is too much pettiness and bureaucracy

Until battery powered tools are improved this ban should not take place.

The technology for battery operated leaf blowers are not viable at the commercial level

Thank you for the petition. The scope of the ban would lead to significant cost increases to residents due to added labor required to do the same scope of work. Electric alternatives are insufficient at this time due to their lower power and higher rate of equipment deterioration.

Hard to maintain property without the proper equipment.

I am very frustrated when anyone makes new rules and policy for the private sector to follow and then exclude themselves. If the town will not abide by the rules/laws, that they pass then that law does not apply to the citizen nor a business. As this country was founded by WE the People and elected officials passing laws and exempting themselves is not equal enforcement of the law nor should it even be made to apply. As it has made the law null and void by exempting themselves from the very lawn that they pass

A total leaf blower ban does not take into account practical realities, nor is it a reasonable compromise between competing interests. I urge the council to consider restrictions, rather than entertaining an outright ban.

This is unfair burden with higher costs for those of us responsible for land that abuts sidewalks or for cleaning leaves caused by city trees or neighboring trees we don't own. The current ban is not enforced equally today.

This ban would be a hardship on me who maintains my own landscaping at 15 Halsted Place.

The problem with the current limited ban is that it is not informally enforced and double penalizes the homeowner by levying a heavy fine ($300+) and requiring an in person court appearance that involves a full morning of lost work time.

A complete ban on gas leaf blowers is an egregious burden on our landscapers where the costs will ultimately be passed down to us.

Electric blowers are vastly inferior and can’t adequately do the job.

I hope for more homeowners to be active and stop this nonsense from a small outspoken group. Costs will increase.

This is an unnecessary burden.

Unfair burden on property owners with smaller lots. They are more efficient as demonstrated by the fact that the COR will continue using.

I agree with all of the points made by the association. This law and restriction is unfairly oppressive.

Probably the same people who jumped on the electric car bandwagon
