82% of Canadians are not aware of the products they are buying.(Russell, Andrew) Canada has been encouraging child labour without knowing. Many children are being affected by this and most of them are situated in developing countries. (“ILO Calls for Immediate Action Against Intolerable Forms of Child Labour”) Canadians are not aware who makes their products. Over billion dollars of products imported to Canada involve child labour, but no one is notified about it.(Russell, Andrew) It has been active since 1947 but has become very serious in the past 2 years. I think if Canada make better trade deals with India regarding child labour products being imported in Canada. We can make the amount of child labour go down by atleast a few percent as we are buying over billions of dollars worth of products where most come from India. This will be successful if you sign this petition.
