Stop cell phone towers in West Lakeview Chicago

We, the undersigned, are in opposition to the unchecked proliferation of cell phone antennae in our neighborhood, West Lakeview. The installation of these antennae is detrimental to the character and quality of the neighborhood. We want Alderman Tunney and the City of Chicago stop their proliferation and protect against visual blight and damage to the quality our community. We believe AT&T and other companies should be required to find more appropriate locations in nearby commercial and industrial zones away from residential neighborhoods. We urge the owner of 3545 N. Janssen Ave. to limit any future development on the roof of their property. Located at the corners of Southport and Addison in the middle of West Lakeview’s residential neighborhood, it is less than 1/2 mile from Blaine Elementary School, Hamilton Elementary School, and many homes with children and families. This development will devalue homes and surrounding properties, be an unsightly visual nuisance, and emit potentially harmful electromagnetic waves.
