STOP Building on the Green Fields of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Please at least start building some houses for some locals to live in as well.

Deeply upsetting to find that yet more beautiful green space is at risk due to unnecessary building. 'Market value' housing = unaffordable to most normal working people. This development going ahead would be a huge ecological loss, especially in the context of a climate an ecological emergency; and would stoke the feelings of injustice experienced by those ordinary hard-working people in our community who struggle to find affordable housing within our area, or within reasonable commutable distance in order to work in and support the community. I believe that this development, and many other like it - which seek only to provide profits for developers with little or no regard for the ecological or human impact of their builds - can and should be stopped.

Given the nature and scale of the proposed development I object upon the grounds of traffic density, ecological loss of habitat and flood risk. Given the lack of affordable homes this type of development would further stangle the village. Smaller affordable development with covenants placed upon the development for local use - similar to agricultural Accommodation’ covenants should be utilised

we build more houses that become second homes and still have no homes for low paid workers to live in. when a house is £150k plus how on earth is someone on £20k a year expected to ever be able to buy one

No more houses should be built in Croyde which are unaffordable to the local population. Also it is an area of Outstanding beauty and no building should be allowed to affect this.

If they are building new homes, they need to be affordable for the local community NOT for holiday homes/holiday rentals. Also they should NOT build outside the boundaries in area of outstanding natural beauty. Croyde is a lovely holiday venue but DOES NOT need more housing which is unaffordable to the local populations.

Incredibly irresponsible drive to destroy more AONB greenfields simply to squeeze in more unnecessary ‘housing’. This is nothing more than pushy greed from money-grabbing individuals that have zero interest, concern or consideration for the local inhabitants, businesses or workers who are already overwhelmed during the peak seasons. Where will this madness stop? Moves like this devalue existing properties as well as overwhelm the local infrastructure. These fields, and others that have also been destroyed, already have residents in the form of the wildlife that thrive in them. It’s disgusting that human greed should destroy their homes so that UNaffordable housing be built to line pockets. Shocked that this is even being contemplated.

How much countryside has been built on in the last 5 years, all the while you are telling us we need to cut our carbon emissions. The environmental damage you are causing is irreversible.

More affordable homes for local people

Don’t turn Croyde into Rock

In terms of Croyde, the infrastructure is not viable to sustain further developments. The roads and sewerage systems are already over burdened and with the reduction in grocery shopping and other community amenities available within the Georgeham Parish boundaries, there is no long term economic gain to the parish. I call upon Pru Maskell to step up to her promise to the locals regardless of political affiliation to protect the Parish. Furthermore, in terms of the 2019 Conservative Party manifesto, they pledged to 'Secure the Environment-Secure the Future'. With the up and coming UN COP26 aim to accelerate the action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement, further development on green, carbon soak and environment, especially an ANOB, is in direct conflict! Call the politicians to task!

I am wholly against these expansion plans. We’re in a climate emergency and the area is far too busy in summer already. Devon will seriously struggle under the weight of additional people. Stop now.

This proposed site is outside the development boundary as established by the North Devon and Torridge District Councils and is in an area of outstanding natural Beauty. Has no merits or benefits for the village of Croyde
