STOP Building on the Green Fields of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Please stop building

Aside from the obvious harm to the local environment the infrastructure cannot cope with the rapid increase in new properties. Businesses are struggling through lack of accommodation in the parish for employees and young people are having to move away to afford rental or homes for sale. The community, a wonderful mix of ages and lives is being disproportionately eroded by the influx of holiday home owners wishing to rent at 4 times the weekly long term rent.

Protect and Preserve

There are plenty of buildings

There is not a shortage of homes, just the wrong people owning them. Stop building in croyde. It is ruining the environment, community and the areas natural beauty and jarm. Also there is not adequate infrastructure for the growth.

Have to preserve the beauty of the the local area. Expansion and building on green fields is not an answer but a short term solution.

I am 72 and have been coming to Croyde for family holidays since i was 5 years old.....we come because thus far it has remained unspoilt....let's pull together and keep it this way before it is too late.

Please build affordable homes for people who live and work here, they are priced out of the market.

Together we can stop these developers from ruining our beautiful Croyde . xxx

All new development in Croyde seems to be second homes and/or holiday lets. This needs to stop now. Any future building should be affordable and for local residents only. Andrew King

Independent validation of planning decisions is a must for AONB

Due to climate change I think there should be no more new builds in this beautiful area it’s damaging farming, nature and our cleaner air

Enough is enough, please help stop the harm being done to our AONB.

If this is allowed, where does it stop, the infrastructure can not take it.

Fields in AONB and small inaccessible villages should not be delevoped but protected. If the quest is for more affordable housing then brown field sites near infrastructure should be used. Creating more holiday homes is not needed here and is detrimental to the local wild life.

I am against further development in Croyde however i do not totally agree with the proposers suggestion that new builds are mostly "holiday lets". That was true a few years ago but nowerdays most are left empty most of the time as they have been bought as "investments". They appreciate faster than money in the bank and those dropping £1 million plus (ish) on them do not want to risk a bunch of greasy oikes renting them out. Many second homes in Croyde are only visited by their owners (or friends/relatives) a few times a year.
