Its not the dog but the owners who are fault for bad temperament.

Having this breed ban in place is like the Nazis banning Jews. Just it's forbidden now to ban certain human races, people do it with dog breeds. This is racism in his highest.

Many jurisdictions across Canada and the USA have repealed the outdated BSL laws with more comprehensive breed neutral laws as BSL is difficult to truly enforce and expensive and is a waste of public resources and tax dollars. BSL focuses on certain breeds regardless of behaviour instead of dealing with dangerous dogs regardless of breed. Look at the Calgary model, they have seen a decrease in serious dog bites by five fold. Please reconsider your discriminatory outdated laws.

Disgusting in this modern day to judge a dog by its looks.

Stop this ludicrous policy. After 9 years they want to take a family and separate it from their most precious family pet. It's no worse than what Trump is doing right now in America. Please reconsider. My heart goes out to this poor family.

Breed Specific Legislation has no basis in science, fact or reality. The idea that some breeds of dogs are significantly more aggressive than others can be easily dismantled with one or two minutes of research. Any government official possessing legislative powers absolutely has a moral obligation to uphold themselves well above this ridiculously low standard of informed decision making. Please. Legislate responsibly. Legislate according to fact, not opinion - or people's fears. Everyone will be safer this way. It goes without saying that dogs are family members to most pet owners. If you're going to break a family apart, you better have solid, factual grounds to do so. In this case, you simply don't. Thanks for reading.

This is an archaic law. You will have a fight on your hands with this one!

Ppl and irresponsible owners make a breed; policies like this are blind and ignorant to those that have responsibly raised their pets and consider them family members; dogs that have never been a threat are punished without cause or care as are their families

This seems needlessly hasty and cruel.

Antiquated law. It's well known that it's NOT the breed but the OWNER!!!

Pitbulls are not a fierce or dangerous animal. They were originally nanny dogs, IT'S NOT THE BREED, IT'S THE OWNER

This bylaw is outdated and unnecessary. You cannot blame the breed for the actions of irresponsible dog owners. Any dog can be “fierce” or “dangerous” if they are not trained or treated properly.
