Breed specific laws do not work in society, nor are they a reliable or effective solution to dog bites. It is discriminatory against responsible owners and their dogs, as it measly causes innocent dogs and pet owners to suffer.Dogs are more likely to become aggressive when they are unsupervised, unneutered, and not socially conditioned to live closely with people or other dogs. Banning a specific breed can give a community a false sense of security, and deemphasize to owners of other breeds the importance of appropriate socialization and training, which is a critical part of responsible pet ownership. This way of thinking is archaic and irresponsible!!!

Breed bylaws are archaic and idiotic. Anyone with a basic understanding of animals understands this.

This is absolutely ridiculous; the breed of a dog is not what makes it aggressive or dangerous, but rather its rearing. If a dog has not had a history of aggression or violence then it should not be forcibly re-homed due merely to its breed.

Come on, even the person that had to write the letter to the family informing them of the results of the DNA test seemed to know it was ridiculous. Change the law and let the poor family keep its dog.

No one has the right to tell or anyone else what breed of dog they are allowed to own. It is also incredibly discrimating to say a whole breed is bad because of individual incidents. Imaging if we discriminated against people this way! I highly disagree with this and if it was my dog you wouldn’t be rehousing it for me

dogs should not be judged on breed but behavior.

Any breed has the potential to be dangerous. Thinking the way they are thinking about BSL shows how uninformed and uneducated they are towards dogs. Having a typo regarding the dates makes the letter not legit if brought to court.

This bylaw is discrimination and should be gotten rid of,it's the owner not the breed and it's wrong to discriminate just because of looks. You're more likely to be attacked by a person then one of these dogs, in fact these dogs would give up their lives to protect their family so the discrimination needs to stop!!!

BSL is uninformed and discriminatory. Please let this family keep their family member.

This is a senseless bylaw which needs to be amended so cases are dealt with on an individual basis.

I just drove through their wonderful county this weekend...believe me there are lots of infrastructure they could spend money besides this ignorant backwoods law against a breed of dog made cross by their owners...the owners are the targets here NOT THE DOG!!!!
