This is wrong . They have to keep there elder dog . There's no need of discrimination twords mix breeds . This is foolish.

Please update your policies. These are outdated practices. Let these dogs stay with their owners.

This is utterly embarrassing and I would like to see the last time they put this law to use and who paid for the DNA To be done! I would also like to see the statistic on bites and who their handlers were and I am sure that you would not blame the dogs! Absolutely ludacris and these people need to amend this bylaw immediately as you are asking these people to give up a family member! Shame on you!!!!!

These claims are not backed up by science or evidence. End breed specific legislation!

What a horrible by-law. Here's to hoping it is repealed.

This archaic notion that specific breeds are dangerous needs to change. I can’t believe a family has to rehome their NINE year old family member because people don’t understand how this all works. A chihuahua is just as likely to bite as a pit bull or rottie.. it is all about how they are raised and trained. I would be moving in about 3 seconds flat if I were this family. Haven’t you learned anything from other places that have attempted (and failed) at this?

How sad and disgraceful that a family pet can be taken away from it's owners because of it's pedigree. If you look at some of the mixed pedigrees in humans, you should remove them out of the communities as well.

This is not who we are as a society. This is stereotyping at its finest and putting us back years. This is not forward thinking or innovative. It’s not the breed, it’s the perception and if we lived in a world where perception ruled, we’d be missing millions of beautiful things, people and places.

This is rediculious. They tried this here in stellarton and it was changed that day. Should be ashamed of your backward selves

So sad to hear you would break up a family all because of the breed. I can understand if it attacked someone or was harmful but not because of it's breed.

At the age of 9 I was mauled by a dog - a German Shepherd. Breed bans are ludicrous!

This is not sensible. Next are we going to ban chiwawas?

Would also love to see this law gone, as it is a sin to take a innocent dog away from his family. Once again people are blaming a breed for being aggressive rather then blaming the people who raise the dog, any dog has the means to bite if it isn’t raised properly, not just bully breeds.
