This is just beyond ridiculous and unacceptable. BSL must be dissolved. The dogs are not to blame for the aggressiveness, it's the owners.

Please let this family keep their beloved pet and educate yourselves on breeds and which dogs are actually found to be aggressive. Pitbulls are not an aggressive breed. It is their human that makes them that way.

I have owned bully breeds as well as non bully breeds and have NEVER had an issue! Im a firm believer its all how they are raised! Any dog can be aggressive if they are not trained properly. People should get their facts straight. Instead of picking on the breed deal with the people that treat them poorly!

Breed Specific Leglislation does NOT work. This bylaw in Guysborough County should be reversed.

This is shameful and insane!!! An innocent dog being "rehomed" does not protect anyone or anything. Why are we so backwards and cruel as a society... this is a family member, a deserving 9 year old senior dog who has done NOTHING wrong! Please open your eyes and your hearts! :(

This bylaw is absolutely absurd. I have owned pitty mix dogs before and not once did she show any signs of aggression. If the dog is trained properly and not abused, then who is the county to dictate what breed is allowed or not. I was in fact attacked by a small Lhasa apso and not a Pitty. What’s next. Sheesh

That’s truly unreal it’s never the breed or the dog it all comes down to how there raised and to take a family dog for 9 years and tell them to get rid if it because of that crazy letter I just read very very uncalled for and I would fight to the end for this if it was my fur baby

BSL is exactly...BS. I'm a dog trainer, No one can actually say for sure a dog is more likely top attack if they are a certain breed pretty ridiculous. It's media's way of causing fear in Panic about peaceful breeds. The letter states "could have the potential to attack" um any dog no matter what breed has the potential too attack. These government agencies need to get opinions from multiple experts not just "experts" that they pay to have the same opinion as they do.

No breed is any more vicious than another. It’s how they’re raised. I have a 4 year old pittie and a 3 year old Rottie and neither of them are vicious. Actually quite the scaredy cats!
