I was attacked by a dog when I was little. It was a golden retriever. Any dog can bite. Just like any human has the ability to harm another as well. We can, but that doesn’t mean we will.

Specific dog breeds should not be banned. It's all in how they are brought up and treated. I have owned various dog breeds including German Shepherd and Rottweiler. My sister owns an American Staff - all these dogs are very loving, gentle souls. On the hand my mothers Labrador retriever, who you would think is the dog you can trust the most, bit me. It has nothing to to do with breed type - not sure how many more families are going to lose their fur babies before those in power of making these decisions realize that.

Put in some sensible bylaws. Most pet owners are responsible and make the ones that aren't liable.

This is absolutely ridiculous.. it has nothing to do with the breed, it has to do with how the dog was raised.... Some little dogs are so much more dangerous than any big dog could ever be.. put a stop to breed shaming.

I've met lots of breeds of dogs over the years. Stop with the specific dog legislation bills. It depends on how they are raised and taught. I've never had issues with bully or any other breeds in that status. But by God I was bit by a German Shepherd and a chiwawa.

I was born and raised in Guysborough County and have always been proud of my community..but after hearing about this I'm sickened. No family whether it be 2 or 4 legged should have to be separated based on a DNA test. We were taught not to discriminate against people based on race, age, religion and politics...why would we enforce such ridiculous laws against an animal who has done nothing wrong. You were elected by the people FOR the people..The people do not believe in or want these types of laws in effect. Sending Lots of Positive Vibes to Chico and his family!!

Dog's are not dangerous by breed, they are taught to be dangerous. I know people with these so called dangerous breeds and they are the most loving dogs you could ever meet.
Time for Guysborough to revamp their dog legislation.
